Stretch Marks (Striae distensae)
Stretch marks (striae distensae) appear during pregnancy and are a nuisance for patients and physicians because, they are so easy to diagnose, but so difficult to treat effectively.
-creams sold on the market are safe, but yet have to be shown scientifically to be effective.
-recent stretch marks are red and the colour could be faded by laser treatments.
-some dermatologists recommend the use of vitamin A (tretinoin) derived creams. The objective would be to induce the synthesis of collagen.
