Fumaric Acid: an effective drug against psoriasis and multiple sclerosis ?

Management of psoriasis vulgaris and multiple sclerosis with fumaric acid.

• Fumaric Acid is a big thing in Germany.
• It is used in the management of psoriasis under the brand name Fumaderm
• It also seems to have a positive effect in the management of Multiple Sclerosis, a condition which has also been shown to be associated with psoriasis
• The loading dose for psoriasis is 30mg/d and can be increased to 480mg/d and in the case report there is a PASI 75 improvement of lesions in a patient also presenting with optic neuritis.
